Physicians Wellness Supports During the COVID-19 Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic, layered onto the government’s implementation of a new physician funding framework, has caused upheaval in physicians’ personal and professional lives. Over the years in Alberta there has been a steady increase in system-level interventions and supports to enhance wellness and decrease burnout. Some of these initiatives target the individual physician, while others target healthcare organizations. The COVID-19 pandemic tested those supports. We invite you to share your thoughts about what wellness supports helped you during the pandemic, what supports didn’t exist that would have been helpful, and what we need during recovery from this crisis.

A webinar that explores the COVID-19 pandemic through the lens of physician wellness will be held province wide on Wednesday, July 15, 2020. This event is a collaboration between the Office of Lifelong Learning Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta, the Office of Continuing Medical Education & Professional Development at the Cumming School of Medicine University of Calgary, and Well Doc Alberta. Your responses to this Invite to Input will be used to help us develop content for the webinar, as it will assist us in ensuring broad perspectives and experiences are reflected.

Below is a link to the short survey.  We anticipate it will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete, depending on how much information you wish to provide. This Invite to Input will remain open until July 6.
