A growing body of literature supports narrative-based medicine as a tool to share experiences and express emotion. Join us for the two-hour session where we will introduce key concepts in narrative-based medicine, and experience writing prose as a tool to aid in recovery from the pandemic.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Apply narrative-based medicine principles during a close reading exercise

  2. Experiment with reflective writing of prose based on a prompt

  3. Share interpretations of writing as a tool for reflection, connection, and recovery

Please Note: This session is open to staff physicians within Alberta, and space is limited. The session is interactive and participants will be invited to do some writing and sharing during the session. Participants will be encouraged to have their cameras on during the session.
