Virtual Symposium Highlights
Our 2nd Annual Well Doc Alberta Symposium was cancelled due to COVID-19 (Read our official statement). We wanted to take the opportunity to highlight the 10 physician wellness initiatives that were set to be featured as part of our Provincial Showcase Keynote Session.
Cancellation Statement
Given the escalating COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to cancel the Well Doc Alberta Symposium on April 27th 2020.
This decision, although disappointing, comes after much thought and discussion based on information provided by global experts and local leadership. The pandemic creates a very real likelihood of increased clinical work demands for all Alberta physicians. As such, gatherings for groups of physicians are discouraged in order to limit physician-to-physician transmission of COVID-19 and/or the need for self-isolation during possible incubation periods. Alberta physicians will be busy focusing on meeting both the healthcare needs of Albertans and those of their own families and loved ones during the pandemic.
When things settle and there is a clearer picture of the state of COVID-19 in our province, we will regroup with a new date for our symposium.
